Santander eVoting

Santander eVoting

Santander needed a modern, secure way to manage shareholder voting in the capital market.
DevelopX built a blockchain-based eVoting platform that enables remote, transparent, and verifiable decision-making.

The Challenge

Shareholder voting is a core part of corporate governance. Santander needed a reliable, digital platform that could handle remote voting securely, especially as in-person meetings aren’t always feasible.

The goal was to build a bank-grade eVoting solution that ensures transparency, prevents fraud, and integrates seamlessly into existing capital market infrastructure. At the same time, the system needed to meet regulatory requirements, protect sensitive data, and support collaboration across different market participants.

Our Solution

DevelopX designed and implemented a blockchain-based eVoting platform that acts as a secure front-end application within Santander’s hosting environment.

1

Blockchain transparency

Built on smart contract technology, the platform ensures integrity, traceability, and tamper-proof voting records. It addressed the capital market’s demand for trust and auditability.

2

Modern architecture

Developed in Angular with a Java backend, the platform runs in Santander’s secure environment, offering high performance, scalability, and compliance with banking standards.

3

Design and integration

The interface allows shareholders to vote remotely, automate eligibility checks, and verify results instantly. The system integrates directly with secure account operators.

4

Agile development

We introduced a Scrum-based project setup that enabled iterative delivery & close collaboration with stakeholders.
