The Challenge

Dams play a critical role in industrial and environmental safety, but their failure can have devastating consequences. Vatav faced the challenge of monitoring safety sensors across multiple tailings dams, collecting large amounts of daily data, and acting fast when capacity limits were approached.

The client needed a web-based monitoring platform to centralize data, visualize readings geographically, and automate early-warning alerts to prevent incidents.

Our Solution

DevelopX designed and implemented a cloud-hosted monitoring platform that connects IoT sensors, analyzes real-time data, and displays critical safety information through an interactive dashboard.

IoT and real-time monitoring

The system connects directly to dam-mounted sensors, collecting live readings on capacity and safety indicators. Threshold alerts are automatically triggered when levels approach critical limits.

Geographic visualization

Integrated Google Maps to display all dam sites and sensor locations, providing clear situational awareness and easier management across regions.

Cloud dashboard and analytics

Developed a full-stack web application using Angular and Node.js, hosted on AWS, with a MongoDB backend for scalable data storage. The admin panel allows users to track historical data, identify trends, and plan preventive maintenance.

The project was develivered first as an MVP to test the feasibilty of the concept before further development.
